⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First time trying Mama Lu’s Dumpling House and it was a great experience. The restaurant itself is pretty simple, but the food is really solid and clearly why it’s been around for so many years. We ordered quite a few dishes and everything was good with generous portions. The Peking duck had crispy skin and tender meat, the soup dumplings were juicy and flavorful, and the garlic ribs were crispy and well seasoned. The black pepper beef on the sizzling plate was also very fragrant and perfect with rice. Overall the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes, parking was easy, and it’s a great spot for casual meals with friends or family. Would definitely come back.

Mama Lu’s never fails :) this restaurant was the perfect choice for my family dinner gathering. The food and taste remaines as consistent as their original store in monterey park. All their dishes are served in round table family style dining, which encouraged us to share and socialize at the same time. They offered wide selections of chinese/asian staple dishes like Xiao Long Bao, which was my must have when I visited this restaurant! We also ordered Singapore Stir Fry Vermicelli (soo delicious with that fire work flavor), Beef Wrap (crunchy on the outside with delicious fillings inside), Spicy Wontons drenched in chilli oil (yummm), Seaweed Fish, Peking Roasted Duck (my second favorite!!) I loved how fast their dishes come out by one so we didnt have to wait for too long. There was also ample parking spots at the dedicated parking lot next to this restaurant. I highly recommend to try this spot with your friends and family :)

Loved this place for a group meal. Most of the dishes are around $15, so it is really easy to end up ordering a full table without spending that much. We went to the Chinatown location this time, and it had that classic big family dinner vibe. Everything we got was solid. The sizzling black pepper beef was tender and really flavorful, the garlic spare ribs were crispy and slightly sweet, and the seaweed fish is one of those dishes we pretty much order every time. The Singapore rice noodles were a huge portion and actually had a lot of ingredients in them, not just noodles. I also liked the Shanghai stir-fried rice cakes, which were chewy and comforting. The beef roll pancake was really good too, with a lot of beef inside, although I did not expect cilantro in it. We also got soup dumplings and wontons in chili oil, and both were worth ordering. Overall, this is just a really reliable spot when you want to come with a group, order a lot of different things, and not spend too much. Would definitely come back.

Stopped by the Mama Lu’s in Chinatown and had a really solid meal. They offer lobster yi mein for only $20.99, and it’s available at night too, which is a great deal for lobster. The sizzling black pepper beef came out super hot and smelled amazing — very flavorful and nicely seasoned. The seafood tofu hot pot was loaded with ingredients like shrimp, fish, squid, tofu, and mushrooms, not skimpy at all. We also tried the garlic ribs and crab fried rice, both tasty and satisfying. Big bonus: free parking, which is honestly a huge plus in Chinatown. Overall, good portions, fair prices, and a convenient spot when you’re in the area.

This place is perfect for sharing—big portions, solid execution, and it’s really hard to order wrong.
